*New extended length for more chin coverage ...
Each mask is a 100% Cotton, washable face mask made with 2 layers of cotton and an open inner pocket for a filter or an insert of your choice. (Giving you the option to create 3 layers)
They have a lovely shape providing room under the eyes for those that wear glasses and a curved area across the nose and mouth, giving it a shaped/fitted look while providing an open spacious feel.
Each mask has a casing on the inner lining, which I’ve inserted a 6mm bendy wire pipe cleaner into, so you can squeeze the wire and get a snug fit over your nose.
There is one continuous stretch jersey strip used for the tie, so you can place the hoop over your head, then tie the loose ends at the back of your neck. I found this a better fit than the ones that just hooked behind your ears.
Having the adjustable loop, allows you to move the strip up and down, for a looser or tighter fit depending on the head size.
The mask will fit from age 10 to adult. Measuring 23cm from ear to ear and 15cm from nose to chin. (2cm wider and 3cm longer than our previous masks)
Please remember that these masks are not intended as a replacement for surgical masks and should not be considered as PPE (personal protective equipment).
The most recent update from Victorian government:
“Face masks have been recommended around the world for use by the community to reduce transmission of coronavirus (COVID-19).
Your best protection is still to keep 1.5 metres apart from other people and to wash your hands thoroughly and regularly, and cough and sneeze into a tissue or your elbow.
Face masks are helpful in containing droplets when people cough, reducing the likelihood of spreading the virus.
For our community, both cloth masks and surgical masks are effective in reducing the transmission of COVID-19. “
If using a filter in the inner pocket, make sure you dispose of the filter after each use and before you put your mask in the wash.
You can wash your mask in a delicates bag or pillowcase in warm water with detergent. Putting it in a bag will help keep the ties in place, and ensure they don’t get tangled up in the washing machine.
Make sure you wash your mask after each outing.
